linux partitionieren

hi!

eine frage:
wie kann ich bei der linux-installation eine Ext3-partition erstellen *schäm*
denn wenn ich bei der partition auf type gehe, finde ich kein Ext3

Partition erstellen (Partitionstyp 83)
ext3 formatieren: mke2fs -j /dev/hdxxxx

aber wo geb ich diesen formatierungsbefehl bei der installationein?

wie formatiere ich FAT32 (als share-partition zw. debian & windows XP)
per Win95 Fat32 oder per EFI???

Dazu wäre die verwendete Debian Version wichtig.
Eine Hilfe könnte auch das HIER sein.

naja, da gehts aber über ein schon installiertes suse linux

also ich will debian 3.0 r4 verwenden

Zum Vergrößern anklicken....

Am einfachsten per fdisk oder cfdisk (dort kannst Du->ne VFAT Partition anlegen)
Sobald du dein Debian am laufen hast, kannst Du die Partition über die dosfstools formatieren.
Dazu musst du sie aber installieren: apt-get install dosfstools.
Danach kannst du mit mkfs.vfat /dev/hdxxxx die Partition FAT32 formatieren.

aber wenn ich den befehl mkfs.vfat /dev/hdxxxx verwend schreibt er

die X sind Platzhalter mußt du ersetzen durch die Zahl für die Partition die du formatieren möchtest

versuch mal max Größe 30 GB

mehr als 32GB sind nicht drin, sorry...

aber es gibts doch größere fat-partitionen als 30 GB, oder?
kann ich das vielleicht mit irgendeinem windows-prog. machen?
gibt es irgendeine andere möglichkeit größere partitionen, die sowaohl für linux, als auch für windows funktionieren, machen kann?

Da steht ebenso You cannot format a volume larger than 32 GB in size using the FAT32 file system in Windows 2000. Mehr kann der Windows 2000 FAT-Treiber nicht.
