HILFE mein PC findet kein Festplattenlauwerk

Hallo liebe leut

Habe mir zu weihnachten einen neuen PC gekauft mit einem MSI 865PE Neo2-PFS PE Mainboard und einer 160Gb Maxtor SATA Festplatte. wenn ich jetzt windows XP proffesionel istallieren will kommt immer die meldung
Es konnten keine festplattenlaufwerke gefunden werden.

bitte helft mir!!!!!!

Windows XP kennt kein S-ATA, es braucht eine Treiberdiskette.
Welches Board hast du genau ?
z.B. MS-6728 (evtl ein Buchstabe dahinter.....)

Unter MSI 865PE Neo2-PFS PE finde ich zuviele unpassende..... :-\

das mainboard heißt:

MSI 865PE Neo2-P Designed for Intel Pentium 4 Northwood/Prescott (Socket 478) Prozessors.

Negativ...... lies mein posting nochmal..... :'(

Du brauchst eine S-ATA Treiberdiskette.

Eine Treiberdiskette braucht er für das Board nicht. Bei lief es auch ohne. Eventuell mal die Bioseinstellungen kontrollieren.

Einige Bekannte und auch ich haben dasselbe Mainboard - und eine Treiberdiskette war nicht notwendig.
Schwierigkeiten können sich ergeben, weil im gedruckten Handbuch für SATA etc Fehler sind ( hat mir der Support am Telefon bestätigt!)
Das gedruckte Handbuch von der roten - nicht Platinum - Version des Boards war ok.
Wenn alles richtig angeschlossen ist - evtl mal herumprobieren mit den Einstellungen unter IntegratedPeripherals,On-Chip IDE Configuration
und zwar muss man dort die richtigen Einstellungen haben, bevor man die Bootreihenfolge machen kann.
Ich selbst boote von SATA - XP-Prof.
Einstellungen ( am besten probieren) müssen zuletzt so aussehen:
On-Chip ATA(s)OperateMode: native
ATA Configuration: SATA only
S-ATA Keep Enabled: yes
P-ATA Keep Enabled: yes
( ich hab 2 SATA und eine PATA-Platte drin!)
P-ATA Channel Selection: both
Combined Mode Option: SATA 1st
S-ATA Ports Definition: PO-1st/P1-2nd

sorry hat wieder nicht geklappt habe jetzt schon zimmlich viele verianten eingegeben und probiert werde aber nicht aufgeben.... :-\

Eine Möglichkeit wäre natürlich: die Platte ist kaputt.........
Ist schwer zu sagen.
Kabel und Stecker auch nochmal kontrollieren.......
Und sag mal, was für ein Netzteil drin ist.

Das ist die neueste Chipsatztreiberversion - hab ich gerade per LiveUpdate installiert........

Soweit ich weiß braucht man keinen speziellen Treiber für ATA außer man fährt RAID.
Du musst nur die Einstellungen im BIOS richtig setzen.

Original MSI:
Onboard Serial-ATA
This setting controls the onboard VIA Serial-ATA controller. Setting options:
Disabled, Enabled.

On-Chip ATA(s) Operate Mode
This setting allows you to determine how the RAID controller on the
south bridge is going to switch to SATA controller. Legacy Mode means
you may use the traditional 14 and 15 IRQs, while Native Mode means
you may use all the available IRQs. Setting options: Legacy Mode, Native
Mode.
ATA Configuration
The field lets you to configure the available ATA controller. Setting
options: Disabled, P-ATA Only, S-ATA Only, P-ATA+S-ATA.
S-ATA Keep Enabled
This item is available for you to enable/disable the onboard S-ATA.
Setting options: Yes, No.
P-ATA Keep Enabled
This item is available for you to enable/disable the onboard P-ATA.
Setting options: Yes, No.
P-ATA Channel Selection
This item is available for you to select the parallel ATA channel.
Setting options: Primary, Secondary, Both.

ist überhaupt das Powerkabel angeschlossen ?


Follow these steps to physically install a Serial ATA (SATA) drive:
1. Mount the drive in the system:

The drive can be mounted in a standard 3.5 device bay. The drive can be mounted sideways, on end, or even upside down as long as the mounting screws are used properly. Use either the four bottom screws or four of the side mounting screws to support the drive. This will prevent vibration and provide additional electrical grounding.

2. Set the jumpers:

The drive has a jumper block located next to the ATA power connector (see image below). There is generally no need to change the default jumper setting in order to use the drive. The only use of this jumper block is to enable or disable power management for the drive. The drives ship in the default position with the shunt on pins 1-2 (disabled). Alternately, the jumper can be removed completely with the same result. Placing the shunt on pins 3-4 (enabled), designates that the drive will power-up in standby mode. For most users the default position should be used.

3. Attach the power supply cable:

If your system does not support hot plugging (check with your system manufacturer), it must be turned off and unplugged before installing the drive. To supply power to the drive you may use either the SATA power connector or the legacy ATA-4-pin power connector on the back of the drive (see image below).
Important: Do not connect both the SATA and the legacy ATA power cable to the drive at the same time. This may result in damage to the drive.

4. Attach the SATA interface cable:

The drive can be configured in one of two ways:
1. Connected directly to a Serial ATA connector on the motherboard
2. Connected to a SATA host adapter card installed to the system.

The SATA interface cable has keyed connectors to prevent incorrect installation. Make sure the cable is no longer than 39 inches to minimize line noise and to remain within the SATA specification.

muss mich korrigieren mache Boards brauchen doch einen Treiber für SATA.
